Product Description
Build your own straw collection—one straw at a time. Select a Size first, then select a Straw style and choose how many of that straw you want. This listing is for individual straws, not retail multipacks.
Choose a length
These standard lengths apply to our Safer stainless steel, straight glass, and silicone styles:
| Size | Length | Suggested Mason jar |
|---|---|---|
| Short | 5¾ inches | Half pint (8oz / 1 cup) |
| Medium | 7¼ inches | Pint (16oz / 2 cups) |
| Long | 9 inches | Pint & Half (24oz / 3 cups) or Quart (32oz / 4 cups) |
| Extra Long | 11¾ inches | Half gallon (64oz / 8 cups) |
Thin Bent stainless steel straws have different lengths: Short is 6¼ inches, Medium is 7½ inches, and Long is 9½ inches. Choose Short for half-pint jars, Medium for pint jars, and Long for pint-and-a-half or quart jars. For other cups and travel mugs, check the straw length and opening before ordering.
Choose your style
- Thin Bent stainless steel: A slim, bent straw for water, juice, iced tea, coffee, cocktails, and other thin drinks.
- Safer stainless steel: Smooth, rounded ends and a locking tab near the lower end. The tab helps retain the straw only with a compatible lid; it does not make the jar leak-proof.
- Smoothie and Boba stainless steel: Wider styles for thicker drinks. Boba straws have the widest opening of our metal styles.
- Glass: Borosilicate glass lets you see your drink and spot residue inside. Standard glass styles have a 9mm outside diameter; Long Glass Thicker is 10mm. Hand-cut and hand-polished straws can vary slightly in diameter.
- Silicone: Soft, flexible, LFGB-grade silicone with a 9.5mm outside diameter. Sharp edges on some metal straw-hole lids can damage silicone; we recommend our Silicone Straw Hole Lids, choosing the mouth size that matches your jar.
The stainless steel styles are made from 304 stainless steel. Choose a reusable material and style that suits your drink and your lid.
Check lid fit
Straw widths vary by style. Thin Bent metal straws are 6mm outside diameter, Safer metal straws have an 8mm body and 10.5mm locking tab, Smoothie metal straws are 9.5mm, and Boba metal straws are 12mm. Match the opening to your selected straw rather than assuming every style fits every straw-hole lid.
With our Stainless Steel Straw Hole Lids, leave the silicone grommet in place for Thin Bent straws. Remove it for Safer straws or standard 9mm glass straws. For Safer straws, put the straw in the jar first, then lower the lid over its top so the locking tab stays beneath the metal opening. The 10mm Long Glass Thicker straw needs a larger opening and does not fit our stainless steel straw-hole lid.
Cleaning
Wash with hot, soapy water and use a straw cleaner to scrub inside, working from both ends when needed. Rinse thoroughly. These straws are dishwasher safe, but a brush helps remove residue the dishwasher may leave behind. A cleaner is sold separately.
My personal routine is to rinse after use, put the straws in the dishwasher, then run a straw cleaner through them and rinse again before putting them away.
Please use care: Treat metal straws like other metal utensils. Rounded ends do not remove the risk of injury; do not let a child run around with one. All glass is breakable, so handle glass straws carefully.
Jars, lids, sleeves, bags, cleaners, and other props shown in photos are sold separately.
