These lids are part of a neverending quest to eliminate as much plastic from my life as possible. Not only do these Mason jar spice shaker lids contain no plastic, they are WAY more versatile than the standard plastic spice jar lids, with five positions (closed, open, and three different shaker sizes to choose from) and very smooth motion between them. You also get to choose which size jar to put them on, from cute little 4 oz jars all the way up to massive half-gallon ones. Considering how much pepper I put on everything, that size is TEMPTING....

Highly recommend this product, especially if you're trying to eliminate plastics from your did storage.

I use one of these lids for my Celtic Sea Salt which tends to be a little on the coarse side and not as free flowing as some table salts.

Works great. I love that I can twist the lid and get a variety of openings.

This lid is AWESOME!

I like the idea of this shaker lid and the sizes. I’ve started out with the regular size. My concern is there is too much “play” in the top lid and air is able to get inside the jar with the spices or herbs. While it would increase the cost of this item, I thought a cover would be great (we are on a gravel road and dust is an issue) so I’m thinking I’ll make colorful cloth covers and it will be fine.
One of the springs that turns the top lid was barely on and the top lid was so loose I was wondering if I’d made a mistake purchasing these. I worked with it and finally was able to get it back into position. But it’s something that needs to be addressed and maybe there’s an easy solution to keep the spring where it belongs.
As far as the usefulness of this product, I like it. I like the choices of hole openings and the fact I can choose how large of a jar I use.
This is a great product for those wanting plastic out of their lives. I will be buying more.

I have all my shredded cheeses in jars with these lids...that work great!
