For many years my husband and I have always picked up pennies on the ground that we see that other people step right over them or never see them. We think of these pennies like the forgotten and homeless people that are not noticed for various reasons. I'm using jars with the coin slot metal lid to collect these pennies in for me and my grandkids. I want to teach my grandchildren to never ignore people that might need a smile a wave or hello. I'm picking up pennies off of the ground and putting them in my mason jar for safe keeping.

We save change and like to keep it sorted. These coin slot lids are great for this task! I put them on some pretty little Mason jars and set them in a low profile basket so they jars can be seen above the basket a little bit. They look lovely in our glass front cabinet and look so much nicer than the plastic peanut butter jars we were using before!
