I ordered 2 4-pack spice shaker lids. They're very nice, but they're stuck together! I can't get them apart...HELP!

I love the shaker lids which I am using as salt and pepper shakers. My only issue is, I don't like that they seem to have salt come out around the top and it gets everywhere.
