Any one of our products could make for a great gift—Cold Brew Filters, Silicone Drinking Lids and Faux Leather Sleeves for the coffee-lover, Flower Frog Lids and Jar Caddies for artists in need of organization, Graters, Juicers, and Oil Cruets for the family chef. And, if you’re the hands-on type and like to add a personal touch to your gifts, we’ve got you covered there, too!

It’s easy to use many of our accessories to make one-of-a-kind, hand-made gifts. With a little paint or Mod Podge, you can personalize any Mason jar, and with our wide variety of decorative lids (canister, vintage reproduction, frog flower) make the perfect, custom decorations for your loved ones.

Mason jars are an efficient and good-looking way to store and keep all your craft supplies organized so you don’t have to worry about a messy work space while making your presents.

Our Sugar Lids can serve as the perfect storage and dispensing solution for glitters and other small pieces, and -pro tip- they can also be used to dispense yarn! Say goodbye to the yarn basket and tangled skeins and hello to easy scarves for everyone on your list!

That said, we all know the best part of the holidays is the food! Whether it be turkey and pumpkin pie, latkes and sufganiyot, or raviolis and pizzelles, nothing beats gathering around the table with your friends and family and sharing a meal together. So it’s not surprising that food is one of the best gifts we can give (and receive, of course)! Especially sweets! But not everyone has the time to bake an apple pie or a dozen chocolate cookies from scratch, and I’ll be the first to admit that measuring out the ingredients can be more than a little confusing and messy. That’s where Mason Jar Lifestyle comes in! Not only do Mason jars come in handy for measuring, we have a variety of tools that can help in the kitchen, and we’re going to help you make the perfect gift for the aspiring baker in your life with a homemade, DIY Cookie Mix in Mason Jars!

It’s easy! Here’s all you’ll need:

Mason Jar Lifestyle DIY homemade cookie mix recipes in mason jars great for gifts ingredients

-Mason Jars (of course).
-A cookie recipe of your choosing
-Jar Decorations

For this, I chose a basic chocolate cookie recipe but substituted red and green M&Ms for the chocolate chips to make them a little more festive. It yields up to 18 cookies depending on how big you want them. Gather up those Mason jars, and let’s get started!

In a 32oz Quart Mason Jar, add 2 cups (or a little more than 16oz) of all-purpose flour, 1 cup (8oz) of packed brown sugar, ½ cup (4oz) of white sugar, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp baking soda, and up to 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or mix-in of your choice.

You can add these ingredients to the jar in any order you would like, but for the best looking results, I recommend alternating between light and dark colors.

Next, on a card or a festive piece of stationary, write the following instructions:

-Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F(165 degrees C) and either grease or line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

-In a medium bowl, sift together the contents of the jar and set aside (tip: our Stainless Steel Sprouting Lid can also be used to sift dry ingredients!).

-In a separate bowl, melt butter and then add one whole egg and one egg yolk and beat until mixed.

– Mix in the dry ingredients until almost blended and then stir in chocolate chips.

-Form ¼ cup sized balls(think ping-pong balls) of dough and arrange them about 3 inches apart on the pan.

-Bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Let cool and serve.

Last comes the best part: decorating the jar! We have a selection of holiday themed cut-outs, tags, bands, and stickers from Jar Jewelry to get you started, but the possibilities are as endless as your imagination! Even just a simple cork and a ribbon can really tie the whole thing together.

These jar kits aren’t even limited to cookies – you can make Just-Add-Milk hot chocolate mixes and even put together meal kits for chili or pasta dishes! The sky’s the limit!

Here are the dry ingredients that go into the Mason jar that I used again in list form:

  • 32 oz quart, wide mouth Mason jar
  • Cork storage lid
  • 2 cups (about 16oz) of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup(8oz) of packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup (4oz) of white sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • Up to 2 cups of your choice of chocolate chips or candies
